Bighorn River Fly Fishing Report
August 2009 – The fishing on the Bighorn right now is all about HOPPERS, HOPPERS, and HOPPERS! They are everywhere and the fishing has been excellent. Catching fish on streamers too. Fishing mainly the lower section of the river. Few fisherman, lots of fish.
Flows are running around 3000 CFS so the wade fishing has opened up. Water temps averaging around 55 degrees.
Tight lines!

Eagle Nest was the absolute best.
We stayed in three different lodges on our trip. Eagle Nest was the absolute best. The staff and the lodge itself just made you feel right at home. Everything was done to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Many thanks to John and Rebecca for a great visit. Bob & Nancy C. August 3, 2009
Overall Great Experience
Overall great experience. From the time you arrive, Rebecca and John made you feel at home. The setting was fantastic and the quality of the accomodations were better than what you find at most lodges. The lodges main living area brings all anglers together to interact and we enjoyed meeting folks from other parts of the country. The guides were excellent overall and they have a very good knowledge of the waters and where to locate fish. Ray M.
